MSH6 Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Use
Mismatch repair (MMR) genes result in failure to repair errors in repetitive sequences during DNA replication. Defects in DNA repair pathways are related to tumor carcinogenesis. MSH6 mutations are associated with atypical HNPCC and endometrial carcinoma or hyperplasia, and are found in familial colorectal cancers.
Special Instructions
Block and slide identifiers should match exactly with the specimen ID and labeling as noted on the requisition.
Limitations
Interpretation of results should be performed in the context of other clinical and pathological data. False negatives may occur if slides are not properly prepared.

One (1) unbaked, unstained slide for H&E staining and two to three (2-3) positively charged unstained slides (all cut at 4-5 microns) for each test/antibody ordered.
Storage Instructions
Use cold pack for transport, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen. NYS clients please provide date and time of Collection.
