MUC6 is expressed in mucopeptic neck cells and pyloric glands of the gastric mucosa. The MUC6 antibody is recommended for use as part of an immunohistochemical panel to aid in differentiation of gastric cancer.

Collection Instructions
A formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block is preferred or one unbaked, unstained slide for H&E staining (required) and two to three positively charged unstained slides (cut 4–5 microns) for each test/antibody ordered. Block and slide identifiers must match the requisition.
Storage Instructions
Use cold pack for transport; ensure cold pack not in direct contact with specimen. NYS clients please provide date and time of collection.
