NeoTYPE® Esophageal Tumor Profile
Also known as: Esophageal Tumor Profile
Use
The NeoTYPE Esophageal Tumor Profile analyzes 38 biomarkers through a combination of next-generation sequencing (NGS), FISH, and IHC as listed below. The test provides a summary interpretation of all results to help guide treatment decisions. Reflex testing is available under certain conditions to optimize detection and evaluation of biomarkers such as MSI, NTRK, and tumor mutation burden, contributing to personalized therapeutic strategies for esophageal tumors.
Special Instructions
Reflex testing is performed if Pan-TRK IHC is expressed or equivocal, leading to additional tests like NTRK NGS Fusion Panel or NTRK 1-3 FISH Panel. An indeterminate MSI NGS result triggers MSI by PCR if tumor percentage is ≥40% and paired normal tissue is available. Ensure FFPE tissue block uses 10% buffered formalin fixative. Transport with cold pack, avoiding direct contact with specimen.
Limitations
The test's performance is contingent on the quality and quantity of the specimen. Certain biomarkers might not be detected if their expression levels fall below the assay's sensitivity threshold. Reflex testing might be needed for equivocal or indeterminate results, which can extend the testing timeline. It is essential to use proper preservatives and transportation methods to avoid degradation of the sample, as this could affect the reliability of the results.
