P501S protein, also called prostein, is a type IIIa plasma membrane protein exclusively expressed in normal and malignant prostate cells. It has not been detected in other normal or malignant glandular tissues, offering specificity for identifying prostatic tissue via immunohistochemistry.

Collection Instructions
A formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block is preferred or one unbaked, unstained slide for H&E staining (required) plus two to three (2‑3) positively charged unstained slides (4–5 µm) per test.
