PLAP
Also known as: Placental Alkaline Phosphatase
Use
Normally human Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP) is produced by syncytiotrophoblasts after the twelfth week of pregnancy. PLAP is expressed by both malignant somatic and germ cell tumors. This test can be useful in distinguishing seminoma and embryonal carcinomas from undifferentiated malignant tumors.

FFPE tissue block preferred OR one unbaked, unstained slide for H&E staining (required) and 2–3 positively charged unstained slides cut at 4–5 microns per test/antibody ordered. Block and slide identifiers must match specimen ID on requisition.
