PTEN (10q23) FISH
Use
This test is used to identify PTEN deletions associated with various cancers, including prostate cancer, melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, and cervix.
Special Instructions
The test may be ordered separately and is included in most NeoTYPE Solid Tumor Profiles. Use cold pack for transport, ensuring it is not in direct contact with the specimen. For NYS clients, provide date and time of collection.
Limitations
The test identifies deletions of the PTEN gene at locus 10q23 but does not provide information on other genetic abnormalities outside this targeted region.
