Reticulin
Also known as: Reticular Nuclear Fast Red Stain
Use
The Reticulin test is used to detect the presence of reticulin fibers in tissue samples, often relevant in the evaluation of bone marrow fibrosis, various liver diseases, and other conditions where fibrosis might occur.
Special Instructions
A formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block is preferred. NYS clients should provide date and time of collection. Cold pack should be used for transport, avoiding direct contact.
Limitations
Interpretation limitations include the potential for variability in staining quality and subjective interpretation of results. Differences in fixation and processing conditions may affect results.
