TERT Promoter Mutation Analysis
Also known as: TERT Promoter Mutation
Use
This test is used to identify mutations in the promoter region of the TERT gene, which can be significant in understanding tumor characteristics and possible prognostic implications.
Special Instructions
Use positively-charged slides and 10% NBF fixative. Avoid zinc fixatives. Utilize cold packs for specimen transport without direct contact.
Limitations
The analysis is limited to the detection of mutations in the promoter region of the TERT gene using Sanger sequencing and may not detect all types of genetic variants.
