Tuberculosis — Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Use
Immunohistochemical demonstration of Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens supports the diagnosis of tuberculosis and can serve as an alternative to conventional Ziehl–Neelsen staining. The antibody used is cross‑reactive with other Mycobacterium species including M. avium, M. phlei, and M. parafortuitum, aiding in establishing mycobacterial etiology in formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded tissues.
