Live cell-based assay to clustered acetylcholine receptor antibodies (AChR CBA)
Use
This test assists in the diagnosis of autoimmune myasthenia gravis (MG) by detecting acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibodies. It provides more sensitive detection of AChR antibodies, particularly in double-seronegative samples that may remain undetected by conventional methods like RIPA or ELISA.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Causal antibodies cannot be identified in about 10% of MG cases. Therefore, a positive result is specific for AChR Ab myasthenia gravis but a negative result does not rule out an MG diagnosis. The test has not been cleared by the FDA.
