Periodic Fever Syndromes Panel
Use
The Periodic Fever Syndromes Panel is designed for individuals who have clinical or suspected diagnoses of periodic fever syndromes. These syndromes often manifest with symptom onset in the first year of life or early childhood, characterized by recurrent fever episodes which can occur multiple times monthly or yearly. This test is particularly useful for individuals who have a negative infectious disease workup for recurrent fevers, facilitating the diagnosis and management of their condition.
Special Instructions
This test offers an exome or genome platform with a focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS) methodologies, including copy number variation (CNV) analysis. STAT testing is available for expedited results at an additional surcharge. Clinical records and a completed online order or paper test requisition form are required for test initiation.
Limitations
This test has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, and performance characteristics were validated following CAP and CLIA regulations. Additionally, exome-wide CNV analysis is only available as an add-on for PGxome-based or custom panels and not applicable for PG-Select panels or other test methods.
