Protein S Deficiency via the PROS1 Gene
Use
This test is intended for individuals who have a clinical or suspected diagnosis of Protein S deficiency. It is also useful for individuals with decreased Protein S activity on biochemical testing or decreased free and/or total Protein S antigen levels. Additionally, it can be used to evaluate reproductive partners of individuals with a known pathogenic variant in the PROS1 gene.
Special Instructions
Ordering this test requires a completed online order or paper TRF accompanied by a labeled specimen. Results can be delivered through the secure web portal, myPrevent, or sent via secure email. STAT testing may incur an additional charge, but this will be waived if results are delayed beyond the expected timeframe.
Limitations
The test has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. It is developed and validated following CAP and CLIA regulations by PreventionGenetics LLC. The performance, accuracy, and interpretive value of the test are dependent upon the detail and quality of the clinical information provided by the ordering healthcare provider.
