Sarcoma Panel
Use
This test is designed for individuals who have a clinical or suspected diagnosis of hereditary sarcoma. It might be indicated for those with a personal or family history of sarcoma diagnosed at a young age, or with sarcoma and other related cancers that suggest a hereditary cancer syndrome. This panel can help in identifying genetic mutations associated with sarcoma, aiding in diagnosis and management of the disease.
Special Instructions
New York Approved. The test turnaround time ranges from 2-3 weeks for standard processing, and 7-16 days for STAT processing.
Limitations
The test's accuracy might be limited by factors such as the quality of the specimen, and the presence of certain types of mutations that may not be detectable by this method. It may not identify mutations outside the targeted regions of the 35 genes included in the panel.
