Sterol Disorders Panel
Use
This test is suitable for individuals who show relevant symptoms or have a clinical or suspected diagnosis of sterol disorders. It is also applicable for individuals who have low to normal cholesterol levels with abnormal sterol profiles in plasma or tissue.
Special Instructions
The test can be ordered online through the myPrevent portal or via paper test requisition form. Exome-wide CNV analysis is available as an add-on with an extra cost, provided an Exome-based testing method is used.
Limitations
The Sterol Disorders Panel is developed and validated by PreventionGenetics under CAP and CLIA regulations, but it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. The panel is limited to the 12 genes included and additional variants outside these genes will not be detected.
