Use
This test is designed for individuals showing clinical signs or having a suspected diagnosis of tooth agenesis, particularly those identified with missing permanent teeth on panoramic radiographs after the age of six. It is also recommended for individuals with a family history of tooth agenesis, aiding in the diagnosis and understanding of genetic contributions to this condition.
Special Instructions
PreventionGenetics LLC, which performs these tests, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exact Sciences Corp., following CAP and CLIA regulations. However, these tests have not been cleared or approved by the US FDA. For patients accessing the tests while in New York State, include the New York State Genetic Testing Healthcare Provider Statement if the test is not NY state approved.
Limitations
While this test is comprehensive in identifying genetic causes of tooth agenesis through NGS and CNV analysis, limitations exist in the detection of certain types of genomic alterations due to technical constraints inherent to the methodologies used.
