Adiponectin
Use
Measures levels of adiponectin, a hormone‑protein made by adipocytes that promotes insulin sensitivity and healthy fat metabolism. Low levels are linked to increased risk of insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), with research citing up to 3× risk for metabolic syndrome, 9× risk for type 2 diabetes, and double prevalence of coronary artery disease.
Special Instructions
Fasting (8–12 hours) is recommended. Testing is performed by Quest Diagnostics; no doctor visit needed for consumer‑initiated purchase. Sample collection performed at Quest Patient Service Centers. Independent healthcare provider involved in process.
Limitations
