Aluminum has been implicated in encephalopathy among patients receiving prolonged hemodialysis due to renal failure. Impaired excretion of aluminum leads to accumulation in blood, bone, and brain, increasing risk for neurotoxic effects.
Special Instructions
Avoid fruits, juices, and tea for 24 hours before collection. Clean skin carefully prior to venipuncture, avoid hemolysis and avoid worksite collection.
