Arsenic, Total Inorganic – Urine
Use
This test measures total inorganic arsenic in urine, enabling assessment of exposure to inorganic (toxic) arsenic species, which may indicate environmental or occupational exposure or suspected arsenic toxicity.
Special Instructions
Specimen must be urine—usually 24‑hour collection; refer to standard trace‑metal urine handling instructions, including avoiding seafood prior to collection and use of trace‑metal clean containers.
Limitations
Developed and validated by Quest Diagnostics; it is not cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Interpretation may be affected by recent seafood consumption.
