Use
To identify disease‑causing mutations in individuals affected with beta‑thalassemia; to identify carriers in high‑risk ethnic groups or those with positive family history; and for prenatal diagnosis of beta‑thalassemia.
Special Instructions
Provide ethnicity, clinical indication, name of referring physician, and referring physician’s phone number.
Limitations
This test was developed and its analytical performance characteristics have been determined by Quest Diagnostics. It has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. This assay has been validated pursuant to CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes.
