This assay provides confirmatory testing for Chlamydia trachomatis detected by standard NAAT methods by targeting an alternate nucleic acid region. It is intended for use when results have potential adverse medical, social, or psychological consequences or in low‑prevalence settings where positive predictive value may be reduced.
