Cryofibrinogen testing is used to detect cryofibrinogen, an abnormal fibrinogen that precipitates in plasma at cold temperatures and dissolves upon warming. It assists in diagnosing conditions like cryofibrinogenemia, which may present with cold‐induced vascular occlusion, purpura, ulcers, or vasculitis.

Collection Instructions
Overnight fasting is required. Place specimen immediately after collection in a 37 C water bath, incubator, or heat pack for 1 hour, keep specimen at 37 C until after separation of plasma from red cells. Pre-warm bench-top centrifuge for 10 minutes before placing specimens in centrifuge.
