Donor, HTLV‑I/II Antibody Screen

Use
This test is intended to screen blood donors for antibodies to human T‑lymphotropic virus types I and II (HTLV‑I/II) in accordance with FDA requirements for relevant communicable disease agents or diseases (RCDADs), as part of donor screening protocols to reduce risk of transmission during transfusion or transplantation.
Special Instructions
Quest Diagnostics performs donor testing, including HTLV‑I/II antibody screening, at its dedicated donor testing facility in Chantilly, Virginia; testing must use FDA‑approved or cleared donor screening assays without modifications. All donor specimens for HTLV testing are routed to that facility.
Limitations
This antibody screen is designed for donor screening and must conform to FDA‑licensed or -approved assays; modifications or lab‑developed tests are prohibited for this purpose.
