FISH, AML‑NUP98 (11p15.4)
Also known as: MDS, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Acute Leukemia, T-ALL, T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Use
Structural chromosomal rearrangements of the Nucleoporin 98 (NUP98) gene have been reported in a wide range of hematologic neoplasms including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and T‑cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‑ALL). Fusion of NUP98 gene to various fusion partners leads to generation of leukemogenic NUP98 fusion proteins and correlates with poor prognosis. The NUP98 FISH test will allow for the detection of NUP98 gene rearrangement to further classify prognostic risk in AML and guide therapy selection.
