Parietal Cell Antibody, ELISA
Also known as: Gastric Parietal Cell Antibody, PCA, GPA, Gastric Parietal Antibody
Use
Gastric parietal cell antibodies are commonly found in patients with pernicious anemia and autoimmune chronic atrophic gastritis. The antigen targeted by these antibodies is the H+/K+ ATPase gastric proton pump responsible for acid production in the stomach. Detection of these antibodies supports the evaluation of autoimmune gastric disorders and pernicious anemia.
