Platelet Antibody Screen, Serum
Use
This test screens for platelet-associated antibodies (IgG, IgM, and possibly IgA) targeting HLA class I and platelet glycoprotein antigens (GP IIb/IIIa, Ib/IX, Ia/IIa, and GP IV). It is useful in evaluating platelet refractoriness following transfusion or pregnancy and in the diagnosis of neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (NAIT) and post–transfusion purpura. Results patterns should not be used as the sole clinical basis for decision-making. Quest performs in‑lab verification under CLIA/CAP guidance.
