Order TestUse
Detection of Pneumocystis jirovecii DNA by real‑time PCR is a useful tool for the rapid diagnosis of Pneumocystis pneumonia. Quantification can be used to gauge effectiveness of therapy. Reportable range is 250 to 125,000,000 copies/mL (2.40 to 8.10 Log copies/mL). Report range includes “Not Detected” results for P. jirovecii DNA. This enables both diagnostic assessment and therapeutic monitoring.
