Use
This test is designed to detect the presence of allergen-specific IgG antibodies to Rye in the patient's serum. Levels of IgG antibodies can provide information on the patient's exposure to this allergen, which might be relevant for managing allergies or sensitivities to rye products.
Special Instructions
Please review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to ensure adequate volume for allergen testing. Values are reported as mcg/mL and are interchangeable with mgA/L (1 mg/L = 1000 mcg/1000 mL). The test should not be submitted to ARUP from New York as it is not approved there.
Limitations
The test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories. However, it is not cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Therefore, the test should be considered a Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) and is validated in a CLIA-certified laboratory for clinical use. Results may not be accepted for all regulatory purposes, particularly in New York, where the test is not approved.
