This test is used to measure the level of allergen-specific IgE antibodies to sesame seed in the blood, which can help in diagnosing allergic reactions to sesame. However, the presence of IgE antibodies does not always predict the occurrence or severity of allergic symptoms. A thorough clinical assessment, including patient history and other diagnostic tests, is essential to correlate IgE levels with clinical allergy.

This test only measures the presence of IgE antibodies specific to sesame seed and does not confirm clinical allergy. The IgE concentrations may not correlate with the severity of allergic response.
