Use
The Allergen, Fungi and Molds, Candida albicans IgG test is used to measure specific IgG antibodies against Candida albicans, a common fungal allergen. Special Instructions
Ensure adequate sample volume for allergen testing by following the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions. The test is not approved for testing specimens from New York state, as these are sent to a New York state-approved laboratory. Transit specimens refrigerated to maintain stability.
Limitations
This test has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Results must be interpreted in the context of the clinical picture and are not used as the sole criterion for diagnosis. Changes in IgG antibody levels are not always indicative of disease activity or exposure intensity. Specimen conditions such as hemolysis, icterus, and lipemia are reasons for rejection.
