Use
This test measures the level of IgG antibodies specific to the Penicillium chrysogenum/notatum mold. It is used to assess exposure to this allergen and monitor IgG-mediated allergic reactions. The quantitative measurement helps in evaluating the immune response, which is critical for diagnosis and management of allergic diseases associated with fungal molds.
Special Instructions
Ensure adequate volume for allergen testing by reviewing the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions. It is necessary to separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection and transfer to an ARUP standard transport tube.
Limitations
This test is a Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) and is not FDA-cleared or approved. It is performed in a CLIA certified laboratory for clinical purposes, but results must be interpreted in the context of the clinical profile and should not be used as the sole diagnosis tool. Test performance depends on laboratory conditions and patient-specific factors that may affect IgG antibody levels.
