Use
The Allergen, Mites, B. tropicalis test is used to measure the level of specific IgE antibodies to Blomia tropicalis, which is a common mite allergen. Special Instructions
Please ensure proper specimen collection and handling to maintain sample integrity. Use a serum separator tube and promptly separate serum from cells, transferring it to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. Follow ambient, refrigerated, or frozen storage and shipping instructions based on required stability times.
Limitations
Results of this test may not correlate perfectly with clinical symptoms or skin tests, as allergen-specific IgE levels alone cannot fully predict the nature or severity of an allergic reaction. A negative result does not exclude the possibility of a clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. The interpretation of test results should be contextualized with the patient's clinical history and in vivo allergen exposure.
