Allergen, Weed, Dandelion
Also known as: DANDY
Use
The Allergen, Weed, Dandelion test is used to assess the presence of specific IgE antibodies to the Dandelion allergen. The test can help evaluate the likelihood of allergic rhinitis or other allergy-mediated conditions related to Dandelion exposure. It is particularly useful for allergists and other specialist providers in determining potential allergen sensitivities and guiding further allergy management protocols.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The test detects the presence of allergen-specific IgE antibodies; however, the concentrations of these antibodies may not directly correlate with the degree of clinical response or results from in vivo skin testing with the allergen. A negative test result does not rule out clinical allergy or anaphylactic response entirely. The interpretation of results should be aligned with clinical history and observed reactivity to the allergen.
