Use
The Allergens, Mold Profile, Southeast Comprehensive is designed to quantitatively measure specific IgE antibodies to a variety of mold allergens using the ImmunoCAP Fluorescent Enzyme Immunoassay. It helps in diagnosing allergic reactions to molds in patients. The test results are essential for correlating laboratory findings with clinical history and evaluating patient sensitivity to these allergens.
Special Instructions
Avoid multiple patient encounters during sample collection. It is important to separate serum from cells as soon as possible and within 2 hours of blood collection. The serum needs to be transferred to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube for submission.
Limitations
This test measures the concentration of allergen-specific IgE but does not predict the severity of allergic reactions. The range 0.10-0.34 kU/L is clinically undetermined and is primarily for specialist use. Even though increasing IgE levels indicate higher sensitization risk, they may not correlate with in vivo reactivity or skin test results.
