Use
This panel includes testing for IgG and IgM antibodies directed against arboviruses that can infect the central nervous system—specifically California (La Crosse) encephalitis virus, Eastern Equine encephalitis virus, St. Louis encephalitis virus, and Western Equine encephalitis virus—helping to identify causes of encephalitis or neurologic symptoms associated with arboviral infection.

Limitations
False-positive results may occur in patients who have been immunized against yellow fever or have prior infections producing cross-reacting antibodies.
