Special Instructions

Limitations
The presence of specific IgE antibodies indicates sensitization to Carmine Dye, but it does not predict the severity of allergic reactions. False positives or negatives can occur; therefore, test results should not be solely relied upon to diagnose allergy. Clinical correlation with patient history is necessary. Gross lipemia in specimens may result in rejection due to interference with the assay.
