CD68 (PG-M1) Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
CD68 (PG-M1) immunostain is used for the identification of monocytic differentiation and phenotyping hematolymphoid neoplasms suspected to represent histiocytic sarcomas. In normal tissues, the stain marks monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils in a cytoplasmic granular pattern. It is applied to acute leukemia cases to demonstrate monocytic differentiation and to hematolymphoid neoplasms that could be histiocytic sarcomas.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The age of a cut paraffin section can affect immunoreactivity. Stability thresholds vary among literature and depend on the antigen. Variability in glass slide charge due to environmental factors can alter staining. Best practice is for sections to be cut within 6 weeks and positively charged slides to be handled to minimize exposure to humidity, heat, and plastics.
