Chromosome Analysis, Solid Tumor
Use
Chromosome Analysis, Solid Tumor is a cytogenetic test intended to identify acquired chromosomal abnormalities associated with solid tumors. It analyzes metaphase chromosomes from cultured tumor tissue to detect structural and numerical aberrations that may inform diagnosis and prognosis.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Results depend on successful culture of viable tumor cells and may be affected by culture failure. Does not detect submicroscopic abnormalities (e.g., microdeletions/microduplications) below cytogenetic resolution or low-level mosaicism. Tumor heterogeneity may lead to missing subclonal abnormalities.
