Cyclospora cayetanensis and Isospora belli are coccidian parasites that cause gastrointestinal illness characterized by malaise, low‑grade fever, diarrhea, fatigue, anorexia, vomiting, myalgia, and weight loss. The clinical presentations of infections due to either organism are similar.
