Use
H. pylori organisms cause gastritis. When left untreated, H. pylori gastritis can lead to complications such as ulcers, atrophy, metaplasia, gastric cancer, and MALT lymphoma. Technical component only. Pathologist read not included.

Limitations
The test is for technical component only and does not include a pathologist's read. Specimens must be fixed in 10% NBF or B plus; all other fixatives will be rejected. The performance of the test might be affected by the type and duration of fixation and storage conditions.

Collection Instructions
Fixative should be at a 20:1 fixative to tissue ratio, 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) for 6-72 hours (48-72 hours PREFERRED).
Causes for Rejection
Specimens must be fixed in 10% NBF or B plus. All other fixatives will be rejected.
