Hepatic Function Panel
Also known as: HEPATIC
Use
The Hepatic Function Panel is used for the initial screening for hepatobiliary inflammation. It includes tests for a variety of liver function indicators, such as albumin, ALP, AST, ALT, direct bilirubin, total protein, and total bilirubin. These components help assess the liver's ability to produce proteins and clear bilirubin as well as detect liver cell damage and bile duct obstruction.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Variations in reference intervals may occur depending on the instrumentation used during testing. The results of the panel should be interpreted in the context of additional clinical information and other diagnostic procedures. Hemolysis, lipemia, or an increased presence of bilirubin or other proteins may interfere with certain tests included in this panel, potentially influencing the results.
