Use
The IDH1 R132H by Immunohistochemistry test is used to detect an IDH1 mutation at the R132H site in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue specimens. This mutation is present in various types of gliomas and helps in differentiating between diffuse gliomas that harbor the mutation and those that do not. The presence of this mutation is associated with a better prognosis and may guide therapeutic decisions. It is intended for clinical purposes and provides valuable information for the diagnostic workup of brain tumors.

This test has been developed and characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories as a Laboratory Developed Test (LDT), but it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. Specimens with non-representative tissue type or depleted specimens are unacceptable.
