Use
Insulinoma associated protein 1 (INSM1) is expressed in tissues with neuroendocrine differentiation. INSM1 is a sensitive and specific marker for neuroendocrine tumors, which makes this test useful for the identification of such tumors. This technical component only test is specifically helpful for distinguishing neuroendocrine tumors by identifying the presence of INSM1 in tumor tissues.

The age of a paraffin section can affect immunoreactivity, and best practice suggests cutting paraffin sections within 6 weeks.
