JAK2 V617F Mutation Analysis
Clinical Use
Order TestUse
Detection of the JAK2 V617F mutation supports diagnosis of myeloproliferative neoplasms such as polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis, and aids in patient management decisions. Quantitatively assessing allele burden may help guide therapy and disease monitoring.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
This test detects only the V617F mutation in exon 14 of JAK2 and does not detect mutations in other regions such as exon 12. Negative results do not exclude the presence of other JAK2 or MPN-associated mutations.
