Use

Special Instructions
This test is intended for patients 2 weeks-6 years of age. For patients 7 years and older, a different test, Luteinizing Hormone, Serum (0070093), should be ordered. The test requires a serum or plasma sample, and it is crucial to separate the sample from cells within 45 minutes of collection.
Limitations
The test is not performed at ARUP Laboratories; Esoterix Inc. conducts it. Generally, hormonal assays can be influenced by various factors such as the time of day, patient stress levels, or medications, potentially affecting LH levels. Additionally, results outside the reference range need careful interpretation in the context of clinical findings and other diagnostic workups.
