Lysozyme (Muramidase) by Immunohistochemistry

Use
This test is performed as an immunohistochemical stain (technical service) for detection of lysozyme (muramidase) in tissue or cell specimens, aiding in histopathologic evaluation of tissues, particularly in identifying histiocytic/myeloid differentiation patterns. Its results inform diagnostic interpretation of tissue sections using morphological context.
Special Instructions
Submit using electronic request or ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) if electronic ordering is unavailable; requires ARUP client number. Refer to ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure. This is a stain-and-return (technical) service only.
Limitations
Specimens must be formalin-fixed (10% neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin-embedded or prepared into cellblocks. Unacceptable conditions: non-representative tissue, depleted specimens. If sending precut slides, do not oven bake. Stability: ambient and refrigerated indefinitely; frozen unacceptable.
