Napsin A
Use
Napsin A is a functional aspartic protease of the pepsin family A encoded by the NAPSA gene located at chromosome 19q13.3. It usually stains positive in lung adenocarcinomas and clear cell carcinomas of the gynecologic tract, helping in the diagnosis of these conditions.

Limitations
Specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) or B plus; other fixatives will result in rejection. The stability of fresh tissue is up to 72 hours, but FFPE blocks and unstained slides have indefinite stability.

Collection Instructions
Fixative should be at a 20:1 fixative to tissue ratio, 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) for 6-72 hours (48-72 hours preferred).
Storage Instructions
15°C to 25°C; specimens may be transferred to 70% alcohol for transportation purposes after fixation.
