Privet (t210) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This test measures the level of specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in serum directed against privet allergen, quantifying an individual’s sensitization to privet. A positive result indicates sensitization, which may or may not correspond to clinical allergy; diagnosis must be based on clinical correlation.
Special Instructions
No test preparation is required.
Limitations
A positive IgE result indicates sensitization but not necessarily clinical allergy; many sensitized individuals may not develop symptoms. Diagnosis requires clinician interpretation in context of patient’s history and presentation.
