Use
The T- and B-Lymphocyte and Natural Killer Cell Profile is a diagnostic test that involves the enumeration of various lymphocyte subsets including T-cells, B-cells, and NK cells. This profile can be particularly significant in monitoring immune function and disease progression in patients, such as those with HIV-1. For AIDS patients, the test provides important prognostic data, particularly CD4 and CD8 T cell levels, which are used to monitor disease progression and retroviral therapy efficacy. Additionally, natural killer cells' activity against virus-infected and malignant cells helps in evaluating the cytotoxic activity of the immune system.
Special Instructions
Specimen collection should occur no more than 48 hours before lab processing to ensure cellular viability. Collection requires specific tubes, and careful handling to maintain room temperature for specimen stability. Indicating the date and time of collection on both tubes and requisition forms is essential. Hemolysis and clotted specimens can lead to rejection, and maintaining room temperature storage is necessary to ensure test validity.
Limitations

Collection Instructions
