Use
The Testicular Function Profile II is used to evaluate the function of the testes by measuring levels of key hormones involved in male reproductive health. Special Instructions
This test may exhibit interference when collected from individuals consuming high doses of biotin. It is advised to stop biotin supplementation at least 72 hours before sample collection to avoid interference with test results.
Limitations
The presence of biotin in high concentrations in the blood can interfere with the accurate measurement of FSH, LH, and testosterone in this profile. Patients should be carefully screened for biotin use to ensure the validity of the test results. Stability of specimens at different temperatures should be taken into consideration since improper storage may affect hormone levels.
