Vimentin
Use
Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein that provides structural support to cells and is primarily expressed in mesenchymal cells, including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and smooth muscle cells. In pathology, vimentin is widely used to identify tumors of mesenchymal origin, such as sarcomas, and to differentiate these from epithelial and other types of malignancies.
